Hello, I am Cécile and here is my story....

Who am I?

PASSION

"Allow your passion to become your purpose, and it will one day become your profession."

Gabrielle Bernstein

Dancing has always been my passion. The freedom that comes from the combination of movement and music, and the joy of life, the uplifting feelings, just make life worth living for me. I was blessed with the opportunity to live my passion. From a young age I took dance classes in ballet, street dance, jazz, modern dance, contact improvisation until I got the opportunity to study dance & movement in New York (BodiBalance with founder Carol Fonda, ballet with Ernesta Corvino, José Limon, Integral Yoga) and was able to do the three year training at Zurich Dance Theater School. I also had the pleasure of the one year Choreo Dance project led by Laura Atwood and Richard Havey. With this knowledge and experience I worked as a professional dancer and created my own choreographies and projects. As a dance teacher I was able to pass on my enthusiasm for dance to young (from 7 years old) and old.

Due to the constant physical strain, the pressure to perform and the financial situation coupled with my awkward posture, I became more and more tired, the pain increased and I became sad

CHANGE

You can't become what you want if you stay the way you are.

I was looking for a solution, a way out and I wanted to understand how the human body works, what is the cause of annoying pain and fatigue. This led me to the effective method, the Alexander Technique. I studied and completed my 3-year Alexander Technique training with Béatrice and Robin Simmons-Heiz in Zurich. My goal was to experience ease and effortlessness in my movements, to stay healthy and to improve my stage presence.

I achieved this goal by integrating the Alexander Technique into various activities such as dancing, cycling, jogging, hiking, skiing, drawing as well as in my everyday life when cleaning, tidying up, vacuuming, working on the computer and in dealing with my environment by paying attention to how I react and act to my husband, my children and in certain situations. Today I live the Alexander Technique in all areas of my life. But not only that: the symptoms of fatigue and my constant neck pain, which I had developed during my commercial work at the computer and which had become chronic, also disappeared.

As a result, I experienced firsthand that the Alexander Technique offers a way to recognize and refrain from unfavorable posture and movement patterns, so that the personally defined goal becomes attainable.

FAMILY

Where life begins and love never ends.

As a mother of a daughter (2007) and a son (2008), the AlexanderTechnique has helped me during pregnancy, childbirth and the various stages one goes through with children. I know how challenging it can be to balance everything as an entrepreneur, mother and wife, and I use the technique to strengthen my resilience and always experience serenity and ease.

CAREER

"Teaching is an art and a profession that requires years of training." Dick Cavett

To put my experience and knowledge into practice, I regularly receive clients for one-on-one sessions in my own practice space. I take great joy in teaching people how to let go of unhelpful habits to experience an exceptional quality of life. As a tireless learner, I am constantly perfecting my knowledge and skills to help my clients live better lives. In 2015, I was added to the ErfahrungsMedizinischeRegister, which means that many supplementary Swiss health insurance plans cover a portion of AlexanderTechnik sessions. This gives more people the opportunity to experience this method and change their lives.

I led Alexander Technique group courses, gained course experience and offered Alexander Technique sessions to employees of a large bank. Many office workers suffer from back pain due to long periods of sitting and working in front of a computer with a static position of the hands on the keyboard and mouse.

During my training as a commercial employee, I experienced firsthand how painful an unnatural posture at the computer can be. Through the Alexander Technique, I learned that it doesn't have to be this way if you know how. For this reason, it was near and dear to my heart to help these employees experience more vibrant and natural sitting to avoid developing chronic pain or to minimize it.

From 2018-2020, I was president of the Swiss Professional Association for AlexanderTechnique SBAT. I actively used this platform to promote this powerful method in Switzerland and to make the members and the AlexanderTechnique training more visible.

After passing the exam to become a federally recognized Complementary Therapist in 2018, I gained experience at the health center for holistic medicine, Wise Medicine in Winterthur. Wise Medicine aims to offer the best of conventional and complementary medicine, especially for chronic and severe diseases. These additional experiences have taught me that people's alienation from their own lives, especially in our technological world, can often be resolved by reconnecting with their bodies.

MISSION

"When you discover your mission, it will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work." W. Clement Stone.

For over 15 years, I have made it my mission to,

to empower as many people as possible to connect with their bodies and minds in such a way that they experience ease and strength in everything they do.

Through gentle guidance, I teach them how to gradually and lovingly expand their own boundaries to experience more mobility, energy and dynamism in their bodies. They learn to live pain-free and strengthen their inner strength through a renewed, deeper connection with themselves.

It is my concern to support each person on their very own process path through creative approaches to solutions, changing the perspective, grasping and recognizing the connections between body, thoughts and soul and with a lot of empathy. I see my task in the friendly initiation of ideas, possibilities and perspectives, so that my clients discover their own personal solution, learn to apply the tools of the Alexander Technique and use them for themselves to achieve their goals.

For me it is great and priceless when my clients feel encouraged to go their own way. They find the courage to stand up for themselves and make decisions for their own well-being and that of those around them, even if this means leaving familiar paths.

This conscious, open, and non-judgmental interaction between people makes it possible to create long-term and constructive change.

My experience with the AlexanderTechnique has led me on my own unique journey in search of the deeper meaning of life.

I developed a passion for helping people live better by understanding their bodies, finding balance in life, and using movement as therapy to free themselves from pain and live a more fulfilling life.

My love for dance continues unabated. As a dance teacher and choreographer, I love to share the joy of movement and freedom through dance.

In my eyes, life is a dance and the body is a gift, a means to experience life and enrich the world with its presence. A curious mind, empathy, kindness and love enable people to make lasting changes in their lives.

My Mission

My mission is to enable each person to experience a deep connection between body and mind to find ease and support in all activities.
